Recorded over the course of two months in the P.R.C., "Release the Cheerfulness, China - Ground Up 2" is a collection of field recordings, street music, and classical Chinese arrangements. It is the second installment in the Ground Up Series, sound artist Jason Kopec's continuing documentary project of "sonic samplings of the exotic other."
