Limited edition unofficial re-issue one of only of 500 copies released. Originally broadcasted at National Public Radio in 1988. Released in 2014 as The Sun Ra Arkestra - 3rd September 1988 Chicago. Recorded live at the Chicago Free Jazz Festival in 1988 and originally broadcast by National Public Radio, this performance marked the Arkestra's return to Chicago, almost 30 years after Sun Ra first left for the fertile grounds of NYC, and then Philadelphia. It was in Chicago that Ra recorded some of the most legendary material for his own Saturn label, and this release makes clear that he was thrilled to be back in 'his' Windy City.
